Year 1 – Sycamore Class

Welcome to Sycamore Class

The class teacher in Sycamore Class is Miss Andreoli, the teaching assistant is Mrs Wray. We are excited to guide your child through a year of learning, curiosity and fun.

Reading

Please remember to log your child’s 20 reads on the School Gateway app or you can scan the Reading log barcode. This helps them take part in our reading rewards and encourages a love of reading at home and at school.

Key Information

PE Days: Our PE lessons take place on Wednesday and Friday. Children may leave their PE kit in school from Monday to Friday so that they have it available in case we use it for another lesson or adjust our PE session.

Numbots: Please ensure your child uses Numbots for at least 15 minutes each week. Each week, we will celebrate our class champions!

Phonics: Every Friday, children will bring home a QR code containing the sounds learned during the week. Please use these to practise together at home.

Parent Partnerships

We love to work in partnership with parents to help every child to ‘be the best that they can be’ and get the most from their education.

Each Thursday at 3pm, we hold our ‘Love and Learn’ session. This is a special time where we invite an adult to join each child to celebrate their learning – please do your best to attend and share the experience.
