Pupil Leadership

Pupil Ambassadors

In September each year, ahead of election day, our children run campaigns to become a pupil ambassador for their class.

Pupils who stand for election are included within their class ballot card and in the true spirit of democracy we hold an ‘election day’ complete with ballot boxes and polling booths.

Following their election Pupil Ambassadors meet each half term to discuss important aspects of school life, ensuring their voice and that of their classmates is heard by the schools senior leadership team.

Pupil Ambassador achievements:

– Road Safety campaign for Poplar Avenue

– ‘Wear a Helmet’ campaign for safer journey’s to school.

– Plant a seed challenge to increase the flowers around our school ground.

Other pupil leadership roles:

Each year, pupils in Year 2 are welcomed to apply for roles as Reading or Play leaders.  Our PE lead and English lead interview the children for these roles.

Reading Leaders

Our Year 2 reading leaders work alongside our English leader to promote reading and a love of books across school.

Play Leaders

Our Year 2 play leaders work alongside our PE leader and our MSA play leader to promote physical activity and sportsmanship at playtimes.  They play an important role in encouraging all children to develop healthy lifestyles.
