Our vision
At Townville Academy we aspire to offer the best possible early education for our children in a happy, safe, inclusive environment. We build firm foundations through a welcoming, holistic community approach placing the individual needs of the child at the heart. With high expectations and aspirations for every child we seek to ensure all children develop the skills and attributes they need to thrive and succeed both now and in the future.
Aims
We believe that people learn best in different ways. At our school, we provide a rich and varied learning environment that allows children to develop their skills and abilities to their full potential.
Through our teaching, we aim to:
- enable children to become confident, determined, resilient and independent learners;
- ensure that all children achieve in line with their national peers, or better;
- foster children’s self-esteem and help them build positive relationships with other people;
- develop children’s self-respect and encourage children to respect the ideas, attitudes, values and feelings of others;
- show respect for all cultures and, in so doing, to promote positive attitudes towards other people;
- enable children to understand their community and help them feel valued as part of this community;
- help children grow into reliable, independent and positive citizens.
We believe strong quality first teaching is vital for all however, we recognise that all children may encounter additional challenges or difficulties at some time as they learn. For some these difficulties may be time limited, for others their learning needs may need more specific and long term differentiation. As required we ensure that the provision we offer is developed appropriately and where necessary external support is sought to ensure all children are supported to achieve to their best possible potential.
Our SENDCo, Mrs Cooper, works alongside your child’s class teachers and support assistants to ensure that the provision we offer meets the needs of all children. Your class teacher is always your first contact if you have questions or concerns about your child however you are also welcome to speak to Mrs Cooper, she can be contacted via the school office.
