Today our pupils met Carl, our site foreman. He spoke to us about the terrific transformation work he and his team are completing here at Townville. We were also fascinated to discuss how we stay safe on or near building sites. We can’t wait to see the works develop.

It was great to share our DEAR session today in our Love and Learn. We love reading for pleasure in the library and book nooks around school. @TownvilleIS
In our science lesson, we looked for evergreen and deciduous trees in our forest school area and quad. We even did some observational drawings of our findings. @TownvilleIS 🍃
Using drama to strengthen understanding and connect thought is so important as we bring history to life for our pupils.

We loved learning about the story of Grace Darling in our history lesson. We used freeze frames to retell the rescue before using secondary sources to understand why it was so significant in the Victorian Era. @TownvilleIS

Year One have been working so hard to master multiplication. Using manipulatives to represent this is such a key part of understanding how multiplication affects a number.
