The school’s curriculum intent is largely inspired by the schools vision statement:
‘We aspire to offer the best possible early education for all our children in a happy, safe, inclusive environment.
We build firm foundations through a welcoming, holistic community approach placing the individual needs of the child at the heart. With high expectations and aspirations for every child we seek to ensure all children develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive and succeed both now and in the future.’
Our ambitious curriculum builds upon the National Curriculum.
Regardless of pupils’ starting points, high expectations and aspirations permeate throughout our school and staff work alongside the SENDCo to ensure that our curriculum is accessible for all pupils including those with SEND.
As an infant school we wholly believe that each child’s success within the core skills of communication and interaction, reading, writing and maths are at the forefront of the education we provide.
The offer we provide is planned and sequenced with this in mind. To ensure all children succeed as educated citizens, we offer a wide range of enrichment acitivities and purposeful visits, designed to broaden experience, enhance vocabulary, build curiosity and engage children with delight and enthusiasm to learn.
Breaking down the barriers of disadvantage, we seek to develop respectful, resilient children with lively, creative, enquiring minds and provide them with the skills and knowledge which will prepare them for successful, healthy lives in the everchanging world in which they live.
